You want to open the file and you want that now? Open it with right click. Make some magic and registry modifications, so you can fire up your favourite editor with single click to edit any file or files.
First thing first – be extremely careful and consider registry backup before make any changes.
Go to START, then RUN and type regedit.
Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell, and make new key, for example – Scite, and Command key in it.
Than, modify Default string value in Command key to D:\apps\wscite\SciTE.exe “%1”.
That’s all.
Similarly, you can have SciTE, or any other text editor, as default source viewer in Internet Explorer by setting the appropriate path in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\View Source Editor\Editor Name
For example D:\\apps\wscite\\SciTE.exe.
