That is not bad, but it would be if you promote your site few times with, and than few times without www. That is mistake.

You should know that Google and other search engines are considering domain.com, www.domain.com, www.domain.com/index.htm, www.domain.com/index.html as four different pages and you don’t want that. So do not mix them and use only one of them.

Anti www rewrite rule

If you are really a www hater, you can put this tree lines in your .htaccess file:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^domain\.com$ [NC]

RewriteRule .* http://domain.com/ [L,R=301]

Of course, you should change ‘domain’ with your domain name and put that file in your web root. And than, if someone type www.domain.com, he will be redirected to domain.com without www.

I hope my C.A. – M.O. module will soon be listed in Google directory, too.

Maybe I should again be modest, beacouse I am not Albert Dhtml Einstein, but I am pleased that I am not a Google module virgin anymore.

This is very exciting concept and I am very pleased and happy beacouse I can take even such a tiny part in googleizing the world. Like in old days of Commodore 64 – if you miss something, a programm, than sit and write it.

That is not the only thing we can see from Mountain View. Something big is happening and it became bigger and bigger every day. Maybe we should be afraid? You can find anything on Google, you can put anything, you can do anything.

Why am I talking so much about this and not about module? Beacose if you are reading this, than you do not need it. It is in serbian, it displays latest classified ads from www.inter.rs. Ads are in serbian, croatian, bosnian, macedonian, slovenian, bulgarian and few of them are in english, german, french…

Problem

You got yourself a WordPress blog and made some customizations in template css and you have some javascripts. And if you to switch to other template, you’ll lost them all. You want to have them permanently, no matter which template you activated.

Solution

Install Permanento plugin. Put your styles in wp-content/ plugins/ permanento/ style.css and put your javascripts in wp-content/ plugins/ permanento/ script.js.

That’s it.

It is a charset thing that happens if you try to copy UTF8 table to LATIN1 database. Ok… or something like that.

If you receive error message #1071 – Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes when you run a query like:

MySQL doesn’t allow more then 1000 bytes as a key.

latin1 = 1 byte = 1 chararcter
uft8 = 3 byte = 1 chararcter

First thing first – be extremely careful and consider registry backup before make any changes.

Go to START, then RUN and type regedit.

Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell, and make new key, for example – Scite, and Command key in it.

Than, modify Default string value in Command key to D:\apps\wscite\SciTE.exe “%1″.

That’s all.

Similarly, you can have SciTE, or any other text editor, as default source viewer in Internet Explorer by setting the appropriate path in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\View Source Editor\Editor Name

For example D:\\apps\wscite\\SciTE.exe.
